In paralle to our very un-professional testing on Intel Atom (Silverthorne-based) 800MHz processor, guys over VRZone has conducted extensive testing of the Intel Atom (Diamondville-based) 1.6GHz processor.
In the test, 100% running of Intel Atom will draw about 32watts (they claim ~80% efficiency out of 39watts).
Regarding the performance, it is only HALF THE PERFORMANCE OF CELERON!!!! Terrible~~~ Then, should I wait Eee PC 901 or 1000??

It is half the performance of the Celeron, but he compares same frequencies doesn't he ?
E.g. 800 MHz Celeron is 50% faster than 800 MHz Atom. But Atoms have higher fvs(1600/1800Mhz I think). So it will actually equal the difference with half the consumtion of the Celeron).
Thats just my opinion, so I think YES, it is worth waiting (especially because of the longer battery life we all expect).
