[DIYFever] : Viliv S5 Extreme Air Part I
Yesterday, we have posted the dissection photo of viliv S5 Premium.
SKY (our on-stage engineer) will not let the device to claim down.
He has already hacking it with SSD and HSDPA module.
As I mentioned yesterday, the hard drive masked the mini-pcie slot and there is no space for HSDPA module. Therefore, there will be two obstacles to overcome.
First, replace the HDD with SSD (according to SKY, it should be the type same as the BenQ's netbook. a short-version of 1.8" SSD).
Second, solders the pcie slot and install the HSPA module and of course antenna.
If everything goes smooth, it will be the first DIY "Viliv S5 Extreme Air" in Hong Kong (or outside Korea)。
SKY started the complicated part first. Soldering PCI-e slot and install antenna.
(It is because the short-version SSD is on the way to his appartment)
1. Soldering mini-PCIe slot。
2. install HSPA module。
3. Connecting antenna。
4. Of course cut out the space behind the battary for SIM-SLOT。

Once the SSD came to the hands of SKY, there will be the first Viliv S5 Extreme Air in Hong Kong. We will report it asap!!
